This wine was made from 40 year old dryland farmed vines. Very deep crimson colour with mauve hue. The nose displays much promise with aroma of earth, stewed fruit and spice over a subtle Hunter ‘sweaty’ saddle end note. The palate lets the wine down – and does not reflect the power of the nose. Stewed fruit and spice flavours emerge with fine firmish dry and persistent tannin structure, followed by a stewed fruit aftertaste.
