1999 Longleat Campbells Blend Cabernet Sauvignon

This is a wine which is dominated by its ‘animal’ qualities. Opaque crimson mauve colour with a black heart. The nose is very appealing, with aroma of leather, farmyard, spice, liquorice and blackcurrant. The palate is generous, full bodied with excellent depth and complexity. The ‘animal’ characteristics are held in check, with flavours of mint, liquorice and blackcurrant. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance, followed by a very long aftertaste of spice, plum, liquorice and blackcurrant. One of the best Longleat reds ever! Cellar 4-5 years.
