1999 Kumeu River Chardonnay

Chardonnay grapes from 5 different vineyards have been sourced for this wine, produced in the Kumeu River district, North of Auckland. Brilliant, pale straw colour. The nose displays very good barrel fermented aromas of butterscotch, yeast lees, melon and figs. The palate weight and concentration of flavour is lighter than the nose suggests, but none the less displays flavours of cashew, nut, yeast lees, fig and butterscotch. Clean, slightly high acid finish, followed by a nut and yeast lees aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
