1999 John Glaetzer Wines Margaretes Blend No 5 Shiraz

This wine is a blend of 67% Langhorne Creek and 33% McLaren Vale Shiraz. Deep crimson colour with deep mauve hue. Aroma of stewed plum, liquorice, aniseed, spice and cedar. The palate has a distinctive stewed fruit and plum flavour followed by a very strong blackpepper back palate which tends to run right through to the aftertaste. Fine grained tannins, followed by very long stewed fruit, spice and aniseed aftertaste. The wine is already showing signs of bottle age.
