1999 Henschke Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine has been made from a blend of 15% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 70% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has been matured for 2 years in French oak. Brick red colour with brick red hue, showing some bottle development. The nose is superb, beautifully layered with notes of cedar, blackcurrant and cassis emerging – a perfumed sophisticated sniff. On the palate flavours of spice, cedar, blackcurrant cassis followed by a touch of leather. Excellent length and depth, very refined, perfect balance with exceptionally long aftertaste of blackcurrant, cedar and spice.
Cellar 3-4 years (2006-2007)
Alc/Vol: 14.3%
Other Reviews.....
Medium to full red-purple; the bouquet is flooded with clean, fragrant blackcurrant and cassis fruit; quite lush fruit marks the entry through to the mid palate, then becomes much finer and more elegant towards the finish. A significant success for the vintage. Rating 92 Drink 2014 Date Tasted Jan 02
