1999 Glenara Cabernet Merlot

This wine has been organically grown, and has had Cabernet Franc added to it. Matured in French and American oak. Deep crimson brick red colour. The nose is already showing signs of early bottle development. Aroma of cedar, truffle, earth, spice and leather. On the palate, flavours of blackcurrant, sour cherry, truffle and earth, followed by strong farmyard characteristics on the backpalate. Fine grained, dry tannins, followed by aftertaste of earth, truffle and cedar. A well made wine showing developed character. Cellar 2 - 3 years. (2003 - 2004)
