The Old Vine Collection is a personal pursuit of Rob Gibson’s in locating extremely old and rare remnant vineyards planted over 150 years ago. The vineyard is located at Langmeil in the Barossa Valley and the vines were planted in the mid 1800’s by the original Barossa settlers making them some of the oldest Shiraz vines in the world. Gibson is currently searching for original old remnant vineyards in Coonawarra and the Hunter Valley.
Opaque black crimson colour with mauve hue. Superb, refined nose of violets, liquorice allsorts, plum, spice and a chocolate end note. Totally mouthfilling palate – flavours of blackpepper, cedar, violets, plum and liquorice. The back palate shows extraordinary length. Perfect balance, velvet smooth tannins, followed by an exceptionally long blackpepper, spice and plum aftertaste.
Cellar 8-10 years.
14% Alc/Vol.
