1999 Gapsted Ballerina Canopy Chardonnay

The Ballerina trellis system is set up to allow maximum sunlightpenetration and air flow through the vines canopy.This wine has some character, which is a quality that seems to bemissing somewhat in many of Australia's commercial Chardonnays.
Brilliant, pale gold colour, showing some early development. Aroma ofbutterscotch, spice, melon, tropical fruit and toasted almonds. Thepalate is full flavoured, with a creamy texture. The butterscotchcharacteristics are integrated to yeast lees, spice and nut flavours.Soft acid finish, followed by aftertaste of spice, lees and almonds.Cellar 2 - 3 years. (2003 - 2004)
