Deep mauve colour with crimson hue. The nose displays good varietal character with notes of violets, strawberry, dark cherry and spice emerging. On the palate, flavours of dark cherry, strawberry and toasted oak emerge with varietal character evident, but without any real power. Fine grained dryish tannins in balance, followed by a dark cherry and spice aftertaste.
