A well made Pinot, with good varietal character. Medium weight, brick red colour. Appealing nose, with aroma of stewed fruit, some gamy notes, followed by spice, cherry and liquorice. The palate has good weight and concentration, with cherry, oak flavours dominant. Good length and persistence. Fine grained tannins, followed by a long spice, cherry, liquorice and stewed fruit aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.

Dalrymple are making good varietal wines, with distinct character. Medium body, brick red colour, with crimson hue. Aroma of cherry, raspberry, spice and toasted oak, followed by a sour cherry endnote. The palate has good flavours but lacks depth and power. Flavours of spice, strawberries and sour cherries dominate. Fine grained tannins, followed by a raspberry, sour cherry aftertaste. Cellar 2 – 3 years. (2002 – 2003)
