Notes sourced from Cape Mentelle
The Grapes are sourced from the estate's Wallcliffe vineyard, planted in 1975, and, for the first time, a contract vineyard, McHenry's, which was planted in 1997. All the vines were propagated from original material sourced from California in 1963.
Tasting Notes: Rum and raisins, with hints of cinnamon, and clove, all melded together in a rich chocolate sauce. This is a typically powerful Zinfandel, with an assertive palate - vibrant yet tempered by rich, berry-pie sweetness.
