Rob Peebles, the finance controller of Domaine Chandon is the man behind Buckshot Vineyard. Rob has found a source of very old Shiraz vines (40 years old – some of the oldest in Heathcote), and has had the wine made under contract. Only a very small parcel is available. Very deep crimson purple colour. Intense blackpepper, spice, liquorice and toasted oak aromas. The palate is very distinctive with strong blackpepper, vanilla and spice flavour evident. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance, followed by long blackpepper, spice and vanilla. Cellar 3-4 years. A TOP EXAMPLE OF HEATHCOTE SHIRAZ. STOCKS EXTREMELY LIMITED!
