Lindsay and Carolyn Barratt have been inspired by the Pinot Noir wines of Burgundy. A tiny parcel of this wine has been made – a mere 150 cases – from low yielding vines grown on the “Old Orchard Block” at their vineyard. Medium body, brick red colour. Aroma of strawberry and spice with stalky end notes. The nose displays varietal character but has only modest intensity. The palate is much the same – varietal flavours emerge with strawberries and stalks to the forefront, followed by a hint of aniseed on the back palate. Fine grained firmish tannins, followed by stalky, strawberry aftertaste. Cellar 2 –3 years.
