A magnificent Menzies, tightly knit and built for cellaring. Opaque crimson colour, with deep crimson hue. Perfumed nose, with aroma of violets, Classic Coonawarra blackcurrant and cedar. The palate has excellent concentration, and balance, with the cedar, Allier oak flavours being perfectly juxtaposed to the fruit. Flavours of plum, stewed fruit, blackcurrant, spice and cedar fill the mouth and are supported by fine grained, dry firmish tannins, followed by a very long cedar, spice and blackcurrant aftertaste. Cellar 5 - 8 years. (2006 - 2009)
