1998 Wyndham Estate Show Reserve Cabernet Merlot
Very deep, almost opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson hue. The nose is delicately perfumed, with top notes of cedar, followed by blackcurrant, violets and spice. The palate does not deliver the intensity of a multi gold winning wine, which this is – flavours of plum, spice and cedar emerge. Dry tannins. The wine misses out on depth and complexity. Aftertaste of cedar, plum and spice.

First tasted, February 2005:
Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of blackcurrant, spice and dark chocolate, followed by a hint of mint and mocha. The flavour profile is relatively straight forward, with blackcurrant and spice emerging. Dry tannins, which persist onto the aftertaste, with a touch of tea leaf emerging.
