1998 Virgin Hills Dry Red

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Malbec and Merlot. Very dark red colour with a brick red hue. The nose displays a fully mature aromatic profile with scents of old leather married to fading notes of blackcurrant and dried fruit followed by earthy cedar and light tobacco. The palate is aged and past its prime, very elegant with a supple mouthfeel it shows some remnants of fruit but the tertiary flavours of earthy cedar and leather are now in control. Light dry finish with fine grained softly textured tannins. Modest aftertaste of old leather, a touch of dried fruits, earthy cedar and spice.
