Yet another top red from the 1998 vintage and a welcome return to form for St Marys.Opaque black, crimson colour. Complex aromas of cedar, blackcurrant, truffle, spice, confectionary and violets - a delightful sniff! Generous palate flavours with excellent ripe fruit and considerable complexity and persistence. Flavours of chocolate, cedar, blackcurrant, earth and truffle are supported by fine, yet firmish tannins. Perfect balance, with very long aftertaste of blackcurrant, liquorice and spice. Cellar 5-8 years.
