1998 Pepper Tree Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Cabernet Franc

The 1998 Peppertree red is no longer from Coonawarra, in fact no claim of origin is being made. Deep crimson colour with mauve edges, displaying its youthful vitality. Delightful nose, lifted raspberry, blackcurrant, spice and violet aromas - almost perfumed. Medium bodied palate with flavour of chocolate, liquorice all sorts, plum and raspberry, slightly bitter finish, but well balanced fine grained tannins, very soft with long liquorice raspberry plum aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years. A very good early drinker.
