Tasted 18/10/2002: An outstandingly refined St. Henri - a Shiraz with sophistication of flavour and ‘breed’.Opaque black crimson colour. The nose is superb, heralding a wonderful sniffing experience. Perfumed, lifted notes of violets, spice, prune and dark chocolate. A near seamless sniff! The palate reflects the sophistication of the nose - again with near seamless integration of flavours. The very fine dry tannin structure is supported by flavours of spice, liquorice, plum and prune followed by subtle black pepper back palate flavours. Outstanding length and persistence.Very long aftertaste of spice, liquorice, blackpepper and violet.
