A very good New Zealand Pinot, but without great complexity or concentration. Deep crimson brick red colour, with distinct Pinot varietal character. Aroma of toasted oak, cherries, nuances of liquorice and strawberries. The palate flavours are light, without the depth or concentration that is required from the variety. Straightforward, with fine firmish tannins, followed by cherry, spice, liquorice aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
