1998 Narkoojee Chardonnay

Narkoojee means ‘place of flower,’ however, this wine is far from floral. An outstanding, powerful Chardonnay, rich, concentrated and with a distinct smoky characteristic which is evident right through the wine.Deep straw colour. Outstanding nose with strong barrel ferment aromas of butterscotch, yeast lees, citrus and cumquat. Mouthfilling palate with creamy texture. Rich, powerful persistence and concentrated flavours, dominated by smoky nut, butterscotch and yeast lees. Perfect balance with very long powerful aftertaste. A top example of barrel fermented Chardonnay and grossly under priced.
