1998 Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon

The 1998 vintage in Margaret River was not as successful as in the rest of Australia, with two heavy downpours occurring at the beginning and middle of vintage. The 1998 Moss Wood Cabernet was picked in two stages, thus managing to achieve the classic ripefruit character that has been the hallmark of Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon.

Very deep crimson mauve colour. Excellent nose, complex, perfumed, with aromas of liquorice, spice, blackcurrant and violets. The palate is impressive with mouthfilling flavours of spice, blackcurrant and liquorice. Fine grained firmish tannins, perfect balance, outstanding length and persistence, followed by very long spice, liquorice and blackcurrant aftertaste. Cellar 5-6 years.
