Very deep crimson colour, with deep crimson edges. On the nose, aroma of blackcurrant and spice with an acceptable leafy end note, over an earthy, truffle background. On the palate the Merlot component is to the forefront, with truffle and earth flavours overriding the liquorice, blackcurrant aftertaste. Fine grained soft tannins, with again a touch of leafiness evident on the aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
