Very deep crimson colour with mauve edges. The nose is impressive, with aroma of dark chocolate, toasted oak, spice and blackcurrant, showing strong varietal character. The tannins immediately manifest themselves on the palate, and leave the impression of being subdued. Flavours of stewed fruit, plum and spice emerge, but the firm tannins leave the impression of being subdued.
