1998 Highwood Chardonnay

This is a well made, well engineered commercial wine. Pale brassy gold colour with a hint of green. The nose has all the standard hallmarks of oak influenced barrel fermented Chardonnay. Aromas of butterscotch, yeast lees, peach and melon ride over the top of a smoky oak end note. Full bodied palate with smoky peach and nut flavours, good length followed by butterscotch, spice and vanilla oak aftertaste. Cellar 1-2 years.
