This wine, like its companion release, Cabernet Sauvignon, was made using traditional winemaking techniques of open fermentation and basket pressed. Opaque crimson black colour. Impressive nose of marzipan, vanilla, blackcurrant, spice and liquorice. The palate has weight and displays flavours of plum, spice, liquorice, stewed fruits and vanilla, but is relatively short. Fine grained, firmish, but balanced tannins, followed by aftertaste of plum, spice, stewed fruit and vanilla oak. Cellar 5-6 years.
