1998 Hamilton Almond Grove Chardonnay

Deep straw colour almost approaching brassy gold. Aroma of green tea, peach and melon followed by some herbal background notes, over which dominates a heavy dose of cinnamon oak. The butterscotch barrel ferment aromas are carried through onto the palate. Creamy texture, followed by grapefruit, almond, butterscotch and toasted oak flavour. Good length with slightly extracted bitter finish and a nut, peach and butterscotch aftertaste. Cellar 1-2 years.
