1998 Guigal Cotes Du Rhone

Medium body, excellent crimson mauve colour. The nose is impressive with its distinct aromas of liquorice allsorts and raspberry spice. Excellent palate flavours with spice, raspberry and liquorice dominant. Slightly warm finish. Fine grained firmish tannins, which linger long into the aftertaste, followed by a long aftertaste of raspberry, spice and liquorice. Cellar 3-5 years.

Retasted: April 2001
Medium body, crimson mauve colour. Lifted nose with smoky nose over notes of liquorice, raspberry, spice and confectionery. The palate shows lingering raspberry, liquorice, spice flavours with a plum background. Fine grained, dry, dusty, persistent tannins, followed by a long liquorice, raspberry aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
