The Burge family planted these vines in 1971. Opaque brick, crimson red colour. The nose displays aromas of earth, cedar, spice and blackcurrant followed by a hint of confectionery and liquorice. The palate delivers a good flavour profile, dominated by toasted oak, ripe blackcurrant, plum and spice. Fine grained, slightly firmish, but well balanced tannins, followed by a long chocolate, blackcurrant aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
