The Mary Kathleen (80% Cabernet, 20% Merlot) is a great reflection of the 1998 vintage. Often this wine is fruit driven and more elegant in comparison to the Lloyd Reserve Shiraz. The 1998 Mary Kathleen is concentrated and complex with a subtle influence of 25% French oak treatment. The palate is rich and firm – ideal for popping straight into the cellar.Deep brick red in colour with purple hues, this wine has an aroma that is a complex blend of dry herbs, sour cherry and spices with a hint of eucalypt. The flavours of dry herbs and sour cherries are balanced by toasty oak and supported by good acid.
