A very well made, full bodied, commercial wine. Opaque crimson mauve colour. Impressive nose with aromas of vanilla, confectionary, spice, hints of liquorice and toasted oak over a background of spiced plums and mulberries. The palate has good weight and flavour, yet it is not mouthfilling. Liquorice and spice are to the forefront, over a peppery end palate. Fine grained soft tannins, followed by a plum and spice aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
