1998 Clover Hill Pinot Noir Pinot Meunier

A very fine Australian sparkling wine that is hot on the heels of the Big French Champagne houses. The wine has spent two years on lees. Brilliant pale gold colour. Excellent white mousse, followed by fine bead which shows excellent persistence. The nose is pronounced with very strong yeast lees, with an almost vegemite like second note. Creamy palate. Excellent persistence with flavours of yeast lees, cashews and biscuit followed by a citrus aftertaste. Clean finish with very long yeast lees ‘vegemite like’ aftertaste.
