Grape Varieties: 100% Merlot
Region: From two small vineyards situated on the upper part of the Vigneto Bellavista in the single Cru, Chianti Classico region of Tuscany.
Production: After harvesting, the grapes were destalked and pressed before being transferred as must to stainless steel vats for fermentation. Temperature was controlled at about 32°C and the wine was continuously but delicately pumped over the cap throughout fermentation. Maceration was extended for about 25 days. After racking, Malolactic fermentation was carried out entirely in French oak barrels. Following Malolactic fermentation the wine was racked before returning to the barrels for a period of maturation for approximately 16 months during which it was periodically tasted and racked every 3 months. The wine was bottled after maturation producing no more than 11,500 bottles and approximately 900 magnums.
Characteristics: The colour is a dark ruby red. The palate is full and well rounded. It has lots of volume and longevity possibilities and a smooth finish.
Try it with: Rich meat dishes and Baked Pastas or Roasted Vegetables.
