1998 Andrew Garrett Nicholas Shiraz

The ‘Nicholas’ Shiraz is made as a tribute to Andrew Garrett’s 14 year old son, Nicholas. The wine is at its peak, and should be drunk this year. Deep brick red colour, with crimson hue, showing its bottle age a little early. Aroma of spice, vanilla, liquorice and confectionary – quite perfumed. On the palate, generous, ripe melon flavours of vanilla, spice and plum. The fruit is still alive, another year or two and the earth and leather flavour components will overtake the fruit. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance, followed by an aftertaste of vanilla, plum and blackpepper.
