Grape Varieties: 100% Sagrantino
Region: The vineyards are located near the Commune of Bevagna, Arquata in the Montelfalco zone in the central region of Umbria.
Vinification: Fermentation on the skins occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of about 33°C. In the beginning the skins are stirred twice a day for 15 minutes and in the final phase only once a day. The wine is then aged in oak for 12 months and a further 10 months in the bottle before release.
Characteristics: Deep brick red in colour with a powerful nose and palate. The fruit is intense and reminiscent of blackberries and raspberries. It finishes dry and long with persistent fruit married to tannin.
Serve: at room temperature and decant if possible.
Try it with: Game meats and roasts and tasty cheese.
