1998 Abbotts Cirrus Cabarades

Made from a blend of 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 35% Grenache. We liked this wine the least of the Abbotts collection due to the leafy vegetal characteristics. Very deep crimson brick red colour, with crimson hue. The nose reveals leafy notes with vegetative notes following and hints of tobacco, blackcurrant and spice. On the palate, the vegetal characteristics persist, with relatively short fruit flavours. Fine firmish dry tannins, followed by a leafy blackcurrant aftertaste.
