An outstanding red, from an excellent vintage. Opaque black, crimson colour. Superb, perfumed nose of vanilla, confectionary and sweet plum finishing with an earthy end note. Mouthfilling palate flavours of liquorice, confectionary and vanilla, blackberry, followed by some earthy tar and smoky oak end palate flavour. Generous mouthfeel, with excellent palate weight. Fine grained tannins, perfectly balanced, followed by liquorice allsorts, confectionary, vanilla aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
