A light bodied Merlot, with a firmer tannin structure, than is found in its Australian counterparts. Deep crimson brick red colour. Aroma of stewed fruit and mulberry followed by notes of spice and violets. On the palate the fruit appears a touch subdued, with the fine very firm, dry tannins overexerting themselves, and whilst they disappear for a short time and allow palate flavours of plum, spice and cedar to emerge, they promptly return to a dry lingering aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
