1997 Taltarni Merlot

An old fashioned Merlot. Medium body, brick red colour. Earthy leather nose with just a hint of mint – a rather old fashioned ‘sniff’. On the palate, flavours of ripe mulberry, spice, leather and earth emerge, more reminiscent in style to a mid 1960’s Hunter than a contemporary red. Fine, dry, persistent tannins, followed by a long leather, cedar aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
