1997 Sevenhill Cabernet Sauvignon

Opaque, crimson colour with mauve edges. Yet another example of a powerful Clare Valley Red. The nose displays aromas of plums and dusty cabernet notes with a touch of mint and spice. The mouthfeel is generous. Lots of ripe cabernet flavours - rich, ripe plums, blackcurrants and liquorice flavours abound. The tannins are fine, yet firm and dry, accentuated at this stage, but remain in balance. Long, ripe plum, dark chocolate and spice aftertaste, with just a hint of mint. A solid red - wait at least 3 years before approaching it - or cellar 10-15 years. Yet, another excellent result.
