1997 Rosemount Estate Mountain Blue Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Mudgee is a  viticultural district that has outperformed expectations.This wine has already been awarded gold medals in Brisbane, Melbourneand Cowra. Made from vines up to forty years old, the wine was maturedin a combination of French and American oak for twenty four months.Opaque crimson colour with deep crimson edges.  Superb nose with aromasof vanilla oak, spice, liquorice, toasted oak and a very distinctblackpepper note.  Mouthfilling palate flavours, excellent concentrationof flavour and fine grained dry tannins which straddle over the pepperyblackcurrant background. Perfect balance with very long plum, spice andblackpepper aftertaste. Cellar 5-8 years.
