1997 Morris Rutherglen Durif

A remarkably well balanced Durif, yet with enormous depth of flavour. Opaque crimson mauve colour. Classic ripe Durif nose. Aromas of rich ripe inky plums, vanilla, confectionary and fresh liquorice strap. Big palate flavours of inky plum and liquorice, over dark chocolate, vanilla and spice. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance, followed by aftertaste of dark chocolate, plum and spice. A big Rutherglen red and one that could easily be cellared for 8-10 years.
