1997 Montara Shiraz

Bright crimson colour, medium body. The nose displays a pronounced inky quality which is often associated with young Shiraz, however in the background aromas of plum, strewed fruit and spice appear. On the palate the inky Shiraz flavours again dominate, supported by blackpepper, spice and stewed fruit. Fine grained firmish tannins, slightly high acidity, but not a problem for the long haul. Strong inky, blackpepper and stewed fruit aftertaste. Cellar 5-8 years.
