1997 Chateau Du Glana

Chateau Du Glana was built in 1870 and lies between the communes of Beychevelle and Saint Julien, opposite the famous fourth growth of Chateau Ducru Beaucailloiu. The vineyard is situated on gravelly soils and is planted to 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 35% Merlot. The average age of the vines is 22 years.Deep crimson colour. Excellent nose with strong aromas of truffle and spice followed by a leathery end note. Generous, mouthfilling palate with flavours of ripe blackcurrant and spice. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance, followed by a long aftertaste of blackcurrant spice and blackpepper. Cellar 5-8 years.
