1996 Yalumba Galway Hermitage Shiraz

The Yalumba Galway Hermitage has always been a reliable standby in the cellar for short to medium term drinking. The 1996 displays the contemporary trend of fruit driven youthful Shiraz, made for immediate drinking pleasure. This is a very well made balanced red with plenty of character. The nose is uplifted, with spicy freshly crushed blackberries with an overtone of cherry aroma - very attractive. The palate echoes the nose, with cherry spice and blackberries dominating over a blackpepper background. Excellent balance, with soft tannin structure and long spicy blackberry aftertaste.
