1996 Peter Lehmann Mentor Dry Red

Stunning understated presentation, and a stunning wine. Made from the best barrels of the vintage from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz and Malbec. Opaque crimson colour with brick red edges. Showing some early signs of bottle development. Superb aroma of vanilla, blackcurrant, truffle and plum finishing with a liquorice end note. Mouthfilling palate, with all the expected voluptuous flavours that Peter Lehmann manages to deliver on a consistent basis. Abundant flavours of ripe plum, vanilla, blackberries and mixed berries supported by dusty fine grained tannins and a peppery end palate. Outstanding concentration and persistence of flavour and very long aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
