THIS IS A MAGNIFICENT RED. 1996 was an excellent vintage with the fruit being harvested at optimum levels of ripeness resulting in a super concentrated wine. The wine was matured for 38 months in small, mostly new French oak barriques.Deep crimson colour. Superb nose almost perfumed, filled with the aromas of violets, cedar, blackcurrants, chocolate and mulberry. A wonderful sniff!
The palate is just as impressive, superb complex fruit flavours, multi layered, with flavours of confectionery, blackcurrant, cedar and mulberry. Fine grained dry tannins, perfect balance with exceptionally long aftertaste of mulberry, cedar and confectionary. Cellar 5-8 years. Outstanding. STOCKS ARE VERY LIMITED.
