This wine is a Blanc de Blanc. Bright straw colour base wine, with gold hues. Very fine, very persistent bead, displaying Krug like finesse. Superbly subtle yet distinctive nose of brioche, nougat and yeast lees. Creamy, mouthfilling palate – wonderful length and complexity with outstanding persistence and depth. Perfect balance with layers of toast, brioche and spice. Very long persistent spicy aftertaste.

A 1996 that seems to have tamed its acidity, this well-integrated version offers graphite, lemon, hazelnut and brioche aromas and flavors. Well-balanced and lacy, yet showing the energy of the vintage, with a lovely, pastrylike finish. Drink now through 2025. –BS
