1996 Claxton's Warehouse No.8 Inchmurrin (Loch Lomond) 24 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Of the varying styles produced at Loch Lomond, 'Inchmurrin' falls into the unpeated category. It's also considered one of their lighter, fruitier distillates. This one's completely different to any we've tasted to date, in fact, it's one of those malts that falls into the 'difficult to describe' basket. A big ginger cake and spice note right off the bat, the aroma maintains a vaguely grassy, acidic, citric lift. The palate resembles Summer pudding with lots of spice throwing off the balance by the finish. The malt takes on a fruit-bread like character. No denying this is as distinctive as it is entertaining though. Just 69 bottles from a Ruby Port octave. 57.3% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
