1996 Boizel Joyau de France Brut Champagne

A Superb Champagne from the outstanding 1996 vintage.
A blend of Grand Crus and Premier Crus produced from 40% Chardonnay and 60% Pinot Noir partly aged in oak barrels. The wine pours with a good mousse. Pale gold straw base wine colour with very fine and persistent bead. The nose displays a complex aromatic profile of yeast lees, toast, cashew and citrus with a light hazelnut end note. Refined and sophisticated the palate displays exceptional length with flavours of yeast lees, baked bread, toast, cashew and citrus followed by a hint of hazelnut on the back palate. Creamy texture with clean dry finish. Long aftertaste of cashew, lees and hazelnut.
Drink over the next 4-5 years (2011-2016).
